Head of engagement

The informal sector in Bangladesh currently employs approx. 3 million workers which fall outside the scope of any current monitoring, most of these workers work in sweat-shops (buildings with poor structural foundation, no fire exits and not fit for industrial purpose); At PWF we are focused on building an ecosystem to improve the livelihood of the people in the informal economy by creating a community which caters to all the needs of the people behind our clothes.

Brand partners are at the heart of the PWF community and our engagement officer is expected to play a critical role to help us engage with the fashion community in order to make sure that our long term visions and goals are met.  

PWF is a thought leader in the field of socially sustainable production and the engagement officer must organise events and create a framework to ensure that the brand partners are aware of PWF’s work. The engagement officer needs to ensure that the management team gets the chance to speak at fashion events in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen etc.

Goals & Objectives:
 

  • Illustrate PWF’s core values and strive to achieve our mission.

  • Build a framework for an Engagement team to achieve the following:

    • Creation of a collaborative environment with brand partners through events and personal introductions.

    • Ensuring that brand partners are updated regularly about PWF activities.

    • Driving growth and promotion of PWF-provided service offerings.

    • Maintaining company standards and expectations.

    • Find out brands key decision makers, development cycle, material supply chain, product category.
       

Duties & Responsibilities

Community Management & Events:

  • Manage all aspects of the event from site location – invitation – merchandiser ec. .

  • Develop community initiatives designed to create connections between brands, including brand introductions, overseeing events, electronic and print communications.

  • Oversee events to ensure there is a good balance of educational, member appreciation, and lead generating and sales-related events and to review for adequate procedural safeguards for the protection of members and company assets.

  • Proactively gather data on brands’ business objectives and identify both PWF and member services that could help members achieve their objectives.

  • Seek opportunities to engage with brands to discover and discuss their objectives, i.e. using member service request as an opportunity to learn more about members, member’s business and any other needs members may have.

  • Identify opportunities and act on them to connect members.

Business Development:

  • Take responsibility for sales and community dynamics.

  • Lead tours for VIPs, i.e. guests of PWF.

  • Engage in the larger community of the market by attending events and networking with local start-ups and organizations.

  • Manage and maintain relationships with brands.

  • Develop connection between PWF and key industry change makers.

  • Build a long term relationship with PWF and organisations like Fashion Revolution, Copenhagen Fashion Summit etc.

 

Personnel Management:

  • Shortlist and propose events to PWF Founder with clear reasons why PWF should take part in the event.

  • Perform weekly one-on-one meeting with PWF founder.

  • Oversee and keep the team up to date with process changes.
     

Experience & Requirements:

  • College graduate – individuals with a degree in law, psychology, philosophy, development studies . This is not compulsory.

  • Customer service and sales experience required.

  • Project management and business operations experience required.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Cold-outreach experience a plus.

  • Understanding and experience managing a team of more than two people.

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.

  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial communities.

  • Passion and understanding for PWF’s mission and values.
